About the Course

While many clinicians consider themselves LGBTQIA+-friendly, well-intentioned clinicians can create inadvertent harm without proper training in LGBTQIA+ affirmative psychotherapy. We will cover key differences between LGBTQIA+-friendly and LGBTQIA+-affirmative psychotherapy and provide suggestions on how psychotherapists can move from being open and welcoming to having the education to provide a healing space for LGBTQIA+ clients. Learning Objectives: 1. Discuss at least 3 differences between LGBTQIA+ friendly and LGBTQIA+ affirmative psychotherapy 2. Identify at least 1 personal practice a psychotherapist can take toward providing LGBTQIA+ affirmative psychotherapy

Feedback from participants at the live event

This was fantastic. Thank you Dr. Cadyn. I am "older" (ugg) and work with college students. At times I experience miscommunication with clients due to older terms etc. I loved your acceptance and openness and it was so refreshing to have someone come from a stance that we are affirming and want to learn and support, not insult.

The presenter is always so informative and helpful. I always feel welcomed and not judged if I need to ask questions during his webinars. It is a great opportunity to grow, continue to gain knowledge and identify any bias that we might have as clinicians.
